pigs and comparison

Confessions of a real mom:

I started watching the movie SING while the kids were napping. I wanted to see if it would be a good one for a family movie night. As I watched I was especially drawn to the mother pig (clearly this was what the film makers intended) this is what I found myself thinking…
“Wow! She has a 25 kids!!”
“Look how clean her house is! How does she do that.”
“Man, I would love that machine that cleans your house!”
“I just can’t get over how she keeps her house so clean. I need to be more like that. I wish I was better at it…
Oh my goodness! What am I thinking! She is a cartoon pig!! Of course her house is always clean. Good grief! I need to get out more!”

Lesson: Comparison is stupid. No matter what! So next time you are tempted to compare yourself to me or Hollywood or your fave blogger or friends, stop and think of SING and remind yourself you can’t keep up with a cartoon pigĀ
