I used to think I didn’t have time to listen to audiobooks or podcasts but then I realized I could listen to them while doing the dishes, folding clothes, cleaning a bathroom…you get the idea, and a whole new world opened up to me. Podcasts are particularly good for a quick listen doing a chore like the dishes. Here are a few of my personal faves.
- At Home with Sally & Friends – Sally Clarkson is a veteran homeschool mom, teacher and author. She has such a powerful perspective on motherhood and serving the Lord as moms. I enjoy her podcast and the episodes are pretty short so I don’t have to have a lot of time to listen.
- Trim Healthy Mama Poddy – Even of you aren’t into THM as an eating lifestyle these ladies are fun, funny and encouraging. They definitely can get off on rabbit trails but what sisters don’t?!
- Revive Our Hearts – Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth is a powerful teacher. She has encouraged me in my faith many times and her podcast also has some amazing guest speakers. You can get the Revive Our Hearts app on itunes or follow the instructions in the link to subscribe via iTunes.
- Homeopathy for Mommies – Sue Meyer ND CCH is the woman to know if you have questions about homeopathy. She is a mother, grandmother and I love learning from her. She also has a website with homeopathic remedies and books that are well worth checking out.
- Living Homegrown – Theresa Lowe is a canning expert and hosts a show on PBS. I enjoy her podcast because its full of information on urban gardening, backyard chickens, artisan foods, preserving and all the other things my country girl heart loves.
- Read Aloud Revival – Sarah Mackenzie is the fun-loving, bubbly host of read aloud revival and if we lived near each other, I am pretty sure we would be bff. I love her passion for books and the great information she shares. They have some great printables too! Whether you homeschool or not, you can learn from this podcast and start “making meaningful & lasting relationships with your kids through books”.
- Paws & Tales – Speaking of kids, this little podcast is just perfect for them! Great stories with spiritual lessons. The characters are woodland creatures who get into all kinds of mischief and the wise old PawPaw Chuck helps keep them in line. This a great one for road trips, nap times, and anytime you need a little story. Each episode also has a Tools for Parents Study Guide so you could use these during family devotions too! We also like the DVD version of these.
